Placing
an Order
Is
there a minimum order?
Yes. Weddings up to 1 1/2 hours from the studio start at $3500, and weddings over 1 1/2 hours away start at $5000. All other services start at $500 + delivery.
(Orders are subject to the 6% Vermont sales tax.) Labor, including design
and on-site set-up, is $40 per hour and counts towards the order minimum.
Fresh schedules
only 1 event per weekend in order to provide the best possible
service. By handling large flower orders only, Fresh is able to offer
a wide variety of flowers at competitive prices.
When
should I place my order?
Please place your order at least 5 business days before you would like
your flowers to be delivered. (Advance orders are especially appreciated
if you are requesting specific flowers.) Your flowers might be shipped
from as far away as Thailand or the Netherlands, and their journey from
field or hothouse to your bouquet requires a little patience.
If you need
to place a rush order I will do my best to accommodate you, but please
understand that orders placed in advance have priority.
For weddings,
civil unions, and other events, please book early to secure your date
of choice. A non-refundable deposit of $200 is required to hold a specific
date.
Payment
How
do I pay for my order?
Fresh accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards, as
well as personal and business checks.
When
do I pay for my order?
Full payment must be made in advance of delivery.
For weddings,
civil unions, and business events, payment must be made in full 3 weeks
prior to the event. The $200 booking fee will be deducted from the invoice
total. You will receive a final invoice 4 weeks before the event. You
are responsible for reviewing all details on the invoice and making sure
that all quantities, flower types, colors, and arrangement descriptions
are correct.
Delivery
Where
does Fresh deliver?
Fresh serves all of Vermont.
What
days of the week does Fresh deliver?
Fresh delivers a full selection of flowers Tuesday through Sunday, and
a limited selection of flowers for Monday deliveries.
Is
there a delivery charge?
Yes. The charge is calculated based on the size of the order and the distance
traveled.
Vases
Do
I have to purchase the vases that will be used for my event or weekly
deliveries?
No. Fresh’s high quality glass vases can be rented for a small charge.
(Rented vases are at all times the property of Fresh Floral Design Studio.)
All paper-
and fabric wrapped vases in the GoFresh line are included in the cost
of your order and are yours to keep and re-use. (It’s fun to send
your wedding guests home with your GoFresh flowers after your celebration
is over.)
What
kinds of vases does Fresh use?
Fresh uses high quality, handmade vases. You’ll recognize immediately
how the elegant shapes of the vases and the clarity of the glass really
show off the beauty of your flowers and provide a fitting complement to
your space. Once you use vases from Fresh, you’ll never want to
use run-of-the-mill vases again!
Fresh also
creates its own colorful covered containers for the GoFresh line. Vase
coverings range from handmade papers from Italy to exquisite Japanese
ribbons and Indian silk. The possibilities are endless.
How
do I return rented vases after a delivery?
For weddings, civil unions, and business events, Fresh will make arrangements
directly with the venue to collect all leased vases after an event. For
weekly deliveries, Fresh will make arrangements to collect used vases
with the specified contact person for the delivery.
What
if a rented vase is damaged, broken, or lost?
In case of damage, breakage, or loss the full replacement value of the
vase will be charged to the client renting the vase or vases.
Quality
What
if I have a complaint about my order?
Fresh is committed to delivering the freshest, top quality flowers. If
you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your order please let us know.
Complaints must be made within 24 hours.
Contacting
Fresh
Does
Fresh have a retail storefront?
No. Fresh currently operates by-appointment only from a private studio.
We come to you, meeting at your wedding venue, your home,
your business -- any place you like! Our goal is to make it easy for you.
What
is the best way to contact Fresh?
Please contact Fresh by telephone (802.897.5300) or e-mail (dana@fresh-studio.com).
Consultations
Is
there a charge for consultations?
Consultations are offered free of charge and without obligation.
How
many consultations can I have when planning an event?
While there is no set restriction on the number of consultations that
can take place, appointment times are limited and you will want to be
prepared to make the most of your scheduled consultation time.
What
happens during a consultation?
A consultation for a wedding or civil union begins with a visit to the
planned site of your celebration. I’ll walk around the site with
you so that I can get a sense of the place and your style. We’ll
talk about what you envision for your event, look at sample photos, and
I’ll suggest ideas for possible floral designs. I encourage you
to bring your own photos or fabric samples along to show me.
If you are
planning your Vermont wedding from an out-of-state location, you can arrange
an online consultation with Fresh and get things rolling even before we
have the chance to meet in person.
After the
consultation, I will prepare a written proposal for you that describes
in detail designs and cost. This proposal will be accompanied by a online
photos that will help you to visualize the proposal.
Pricing
How
long is an estimate from Fresh valid?
Prices quoted in estimates are valid for 14 days from the date the estimate
is written. Prices quoted are subject to change based on your final flower
choices and market prices at the time an order is placed.
What
factors will influence pricing?
The type of flowers, the quantity of flowers, and the intricacy and number
of arrangements are some of the variables that affect price. If a flower
is in short supply due to seasonality, high demand, or crop failure, the
price will rise accordingly. At Fresh, we love all types of flowers. There
are many beautiful flowers that are relatively inexpensive, and there
are some flowers that are exquisite enough to be worth their higher price.
How
much of my wedding budget should I allocate to flowers?
We recommend setting aside 10-20% of your overall wedding budget for flowers.
Which percentage you choose depends on how much of a focus you would like
the flowers to be and the style of arrangements you prefer. Fresh creates
arrangements without "filler", so please remember that abundant
flowers on their own are more expensive than a few flowers mixed with
a great quantity of greens!
Reserving
a Date for Wedding, Civil Union, or Business Event
How
do I reserve a date with Fresh for my event?
Specific dates for weddings, civil unions, and business events can be
reserved with a $200 booking fee.
Substitutions
What
if the flowers I requested aren't available?
Seasonal availability and transportation snarls mean that sometimes a
specific flower you requested will not be available for delivery on a
specific date. Fresh reserves the right to make last minute substitutions
of equal value if a specific flower is not available. Fresh will notify
you of the need for any radical substitutions and discuss alternatives
with you in advance.
Client-Initiated
Changes and Cancellations
What
if I'd like to change my order?
Fresh reserves the right to apply a surcharge if radical changes are made
to the original floral designs for weddings, civil unions, and business
events. Small changes are fine!
What
if I have to cancel my order?
Once Fresh has ordered your flowers, we regret that the cost of your flowers
cannot be refunded in the event of a cancellation.
If a wedding,
civil union, or business event is cancelled after the $200 booking fee
has been paid, the fee will not be refunded.
If a wedding,
civil union, or business event is cancelled 21 days before the event and
costs to Fresh have been incurred, a cancellation fee will apply.
